This is the Step by Step Guide on How to Update Hackintosh Mojave 10.14.4 Directly. The first and most important thing that needs to be noted, this tutorial is not for NVIDIA GPU users.

Therefore Nvidia Graphics users please do not follow this guide to directly upgrade Hackintosh Mojave 10.14.4. Only AMD GPU users can do the direct update. It is very important, that you have your Current Boot Disk Types as APFS. If it is not APFS, you cannot do the upgrade.

 

You can check the Disk Format type by going to Disk Utility.Then select the current Boot disk. If this is not APFS, do not follow the guide for this update.

If your Volume is APFS, then Users with the following version of Hackintosh Mojave Can do the Update directly.

Hackintosh Mojave 10.14.1	Yes
Hackintosh Mojave 10.14.2	Yes

STEP 1 : UPGRADE THE CLOVER BOOT LOADER VERSION

 

1. Open Clover Configurator application and then go to the option Install/Update Clover Configurator.
2. Click on the option Check Now located at the bottom right.
3. At the moment of writing this blog post the latest available version of Clover was 4924. (Look at the image for reference)
4. Click on the Download button to update your clover boot loader.
5. Once Clover Boot loader is downloaded, the installation will start automatically.
6. Install Clover boot loader on your current boot disk.

 

 

STEP 2 : REPLACE THE EFI FOLDER ON SSD WITH WORKING EFI

1. Once Installation of Clover Boot Loader is complete you would need to mount your EFI partition.
2. Inside Clover Configurator >Mount EFI
3. Now Mount the Partition Which says [Current Boot Disk]. Do not panic if you don’t see this option, just select the disk, where you have you current mojave installed.
4. Now Click on Open Partition
5. Clover Configurator will load the the EFI partition. All you need to do is delete the EFI folder on the SSD Partition and Paste the Working EFI folder in the Partition.
6. The Working EFI for 10.14.4 contains all the latest kexts and drivers needed for this version.
7.  You can use my config.plist file or you can replace it with your’s. 
8. That’s it – Close Clover Configurator and Go to System Preferences and select Software Update.
9.  Mojave will ask to restart after it has downloaded the current update. Make sure when the Computer restarts, you select the Install Mojave option and not boot into you Disk. The install option is created by the update and will install all updated on your Disk.
10. Once installed you computer will boot directly into the SSD
